Fine Art Biennale to Kick off in Cairo Next June

Culture Minister Inas Abdel Dayem, decided to revive the Cairo International Fine Art Biennale after 8 year cut off

and its 13th new edition “Toward the East” will be launched on June 2019.

Noteworthy, the Fine Arts Sector, headed by Khaled Sorour, announced that the Supreme Committee of the Biennial started organizing the 13th Cairo International Fine Art Biennale by inviting different countries.

The event will showcase 80 artists from 50 different countries, with seven established Egyptian artists among them, including Ahmed Badry, Ahmed Kassem, Hazem El-Mistikawy, Reda Abdelrahman, Essam Darwish, Marwa Adel and Youssef Nabil.

Also, it will held at three Cairo venues: the Aisha Fahmy Arts complex, Arts Palace and the Egyptian Modern Art Museum.

Meanwhile, Commissaire Ehab El-Laban, explained that one of the focuses of the revived Biennale, which will have the theme “Eyes East Bound,” is to show more Egyptian artists than the previous editions.

Fine Art Biennial is a comprehensive exhibition of all kinds of fine arts such as sculpture, photography, graphic, video, and composite works. It is organized by the Ministry of Culture’s Fine Arts Sector in Cairo every two years.
