The official trailer for Egyptian stars Asser Yassin and Amina Khalil’s film “Shamrekh” has been released.

The cast also includes Moustafa Darwish, Khaled El Sawy, Mohamed Tharwat, Sally Hammad, and Adam El Sharkawy. “Shamrekh" is written and directed by Amr Salama.

The action-romantic film depicts the pressures that a person can be exposed to in life, through a businessman who falls in love with a girl, whose life pressure increases to boiling point.

“Shamrekh" is rated 12+ and clocks in at 110 minutes. It marks the second collaboration between Yassin and Salama after the 2008 film “Zay El Naharda” as well as the second collaboration between the actor and Khalil after the 2020 film “Saheb Al Maqam”.

“Shamrekh" was initially set to premiere during the Eid al-Adha movie marathon but was pushed back following the death of Darwish in May.

Before his death, Darwish shot 90% of the film, which had only 3 days left until principal photography wrapped production.

The film has been in development for 18 years and is dedicated to Darwish and marks the second posthumous appearance after his death.

The late star made his first posthumous appearance in the sports film "Khamas Gawlat" (Five Rounds), which debuted on August 16, released in theaters 3 months after his death.

Salama previously said: “The original draft treatment of the film was in 2005, with the first version made in 2008. Preparations, script development, and shooting began a year and a half, a lifetime and finally, it will come to light.”

"Shamarekh" is set to hit theaters on December 7 and world premiere at Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival.

The festival will runs from November 30 to December 9 in the port city of Jeddah, and will unfold under the theme of “Your Story, Your Festival.”
