The teaser for Egyptian actor, Mohamed Mamdouh‘s new film “Abu Saddam” has been revealed.

The film received its world premiere at the 43rd edition of the Cairo International Film Festival, which took place from November 25 to December 5 and earned Mamdouh the Best Actor Award for his performance.

“Abu Saddam” marked Mamdouh’s first leading role in a film.

The film, also stars Sayed Ragab and Ahmed Dash, is scripted by Mahmoud Ezzat and directed by Nadine Khan.

It centers around a 40-year-old experienced truck driver Abu Saddam (Mamdouh) getting a transportation mission on the North Coast road after he stopped working for years, who is unemployed due to his severe temperament.

He decides that he wants to complete his mission perfectly to complement his working reputation but he faces a small situation on the road and things get out of control.

During a panel discussion at the CIFF, the director revealed that the film delves into the truck driver community, one that she has been exploring for several years following a tragic truck accident she saw on a road.

Khan explained that the incident remained in her mind and prompted her to think about the people who spend long hours behind the wheel to make ends meet.
