Cairo International Film Festival President Mohamed Hefzy opened a photo exhibition dedicated to Italian director Federico Fellini's 100th birth anniversary today. It is being held at Cairo Opera House Salah Taher Hall.
Organized in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Center in Cairo, the exhibition displays a number of photos of Fellini's films making off.
It is worthy to mention, CIFF will screen 4 restored versions of Fellini's films including "8 1⁄2" (1963), "Nights of Cabiria" (1957), "Juliet of the Spirits" (1965), and "La Dolce Vita" (1960).
Furthermore, the documentary film "Fellini's of the Spirits" was today screened for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa.
The 42nd Cairo International Film Festival kicked off on Wednesday. It carries out various film screenings at different sections.
The total of the participated films is 84 from more than 34 countries.
Today's schedule carried out significant film screening such as" Nadia, Butterfly," and "Shorta" at the International Competition, "Morphine Melody, and "The Fall of Apple Trees" at the Horizons of Arab Cinema competition, "Sow the Wind" at the Critics Week Competition, and the first group of "Cinema of Tomorrow" participated films, "Ammar" at "Midnight Screenings" event, and the second run of "Curfew."
