Fathy Salama, Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Tuhami to Share Stage Together

Worldwide famed Fathy Salama and celebrated chanter Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Tuhami will share the stage together at AUC Tahrir Campus this Friday.

Under the theme of "Sufism Vs Modernism," the concert is part of the 12th Cairo Jazz Festival (CJF). The concert will be the main event on the first day of the festival. Both artists shared the stage together on different occasions and their events witnessed wide attendance.

Fathy Salama is a Grammy award winner who founded the celebrated contemporary music band Sharkeyat. He aims to re-introduce folk oriental music in new and contemporary musical forms such as Jazz and Blues.

On the other hand, celebrated chanter Sheikh Mahmoud Al-Tuhami is one of the most outstanding chanters in the Arab world currently; his songs are widely played in folk celebrations (Mawaled) and religious gatherings.

The forthcoming edition of the (CJF) will take place between 13 and 20 November.

The events of the festival are pided into live concerts and workshops related to the music industry including music writing, and storytelling.

Various leading icons were announced such as Ali El Halbawy, Samer George, who shared the stage with several music stars, recognized Egyptian jazzist Rami Attallah, the worldwide famed composer Fathy Salama and celebrated chanter Sheikh Mahmood Al Tuhami.
