Farouk Hosny, Egyptian artist and former Minister of Culture has announced increasing the awards of the Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture & Arts to 3 awards next year, instead of one award, as it happened this year.
Hosny pointed out that the youth salon was about 30 years ago dedicated to young people. "We are in urgent need of fresh young blood for the completion of the award march and the youth salon because it helps fill life with joy and fine art,” he said. “It is not limited to Egypt only, but in the whole world, because young people are able to represent their countries through fine art."
Hosny added: “The dream came true today, in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture to sponsor the institution.”
“The idea of establishing the Farouk Hosny Foundation for Culture and Arts is to support young people in all aspects of cultural creativity.”
“Egypt is a country based on culture, so every period of time is full of thought and creativity,” he added.
He wished the Foundation not to be limited to only one award in the coming years, but to reach three other awards.
He thanked Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture for her efforts and attending the award ceremony.
This came during the ceremony to announce the winners of the 2020 Arts award. It is now held at the Gezira Art Center in Zamalek.
The event was attended by Abdel Dayem, Hosny, Egyptian archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, Director of the Alexandria Library, and Dr. Khaled Sorour, the head of the Fine Arts, and a group of Fine Arts artists.
