CAIRO, Dec. 18 (SEE) - Egypt's outstandingscientist Dr. Farouk El Baz, who partakes in the fourth edition of 'Egypt Can'Conference, said that social reform is highly required to develop the educationhere.
Baz was addressing a session
during the two-day conference, held in Hurghada and inaugurated by Immigration
Minister Nabila Makram.
The Egyptian scientist noted that
the technical education in Egypt was better than nowadays from 60 years ago,
pointing out that the state neglected it after the key problems that appeared
in the ordinary education.
"This ignoration led some teachers to take advantage of the
educational system's corruption, a matter which has a negative impact
overall," he stated.
Earlier on Monday, Makram opened
the conference with the participation of 28 Egyptian scientists and experts,
who are working abroad. Egypt Can conferences aim to develop a plan for the
pre-university course.
They also target to benefit from
the expertise of these scientists to improve the quality of education in their
homeland
