Renowned Egyptian actor, Ezzat El Alaili Hassan passed away on Friday at the age of 86.
His funeral will take place after Asr prayer at Almarwah Mosque, next to Dream hospital, in the 6th of October, Giza Governorate.
El Alaili was one of the screen giants in Egypt and the Arab World and the most prominent symbols of the cinema.
The late actor enriched the entertainment industry with artistic works that will remain immortal forever in the public's minds and hearts, which he presented over the course of 58 years of his artistic career.
El Alaili was born on September 15, 1934, in the “Bab Ash Shariyah” district of Cairo. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Higher Institute of Theater Studies in 1960.
The late actor was passionate about acting since childhood and was keen to start his artistic career at a young age, but the death of his father halted his plans and began his career as a television producer.
In 1962, he starred in his first film "Letter from an Unknown Woman", which was followed by numerous cinema and television productions.
Among the most important films, the late actor presented were: "Ben ElKasrin", "Alans W Algin", "Al-Tareek Ela Eilat", "Al-Mowaten Masry", "Awaded El Hareb", "El Akwiaa", "Ghurabaa", "Alard", "Al Abraa", and "Azraa W Talat Regal".
He also starred in several stage productions including “Dimaa a’la Malabis al-Sahra”, and “Ahlan ya Bakwat”.
El Alaili also wrote several plays amongst which are “Thawrat al-Madina”, and “Al-Touffan” (“The Flood”).
He received numerous awards such as the Sharjah International Book Fair and a lifetime achievement award from the Dubai International Film Festival in 2015.
El Alaili left behind his two children, a son Mahmoud and a daughter Ragaa.
