FAO Chief Appreciates Egypt's Role in Delivering Gaza Aid

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Mr. El-Qusair, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation.

The meeting witnessed a confirmation of mutual pride in the long-term partnership between Egypt and FAO, which is reflected in the multiple development projects in the fields of agriculture and food, as well as in the signing of the new country agreement between the two sides for the period 2024-2027.

Moreover, FAO Director-General expressed his great appreciation because of the remarkable development he witnessed during his current visit to Egypt, stressing FAO’s commitment to continuing and intensifying cooperation with Egypt.

Furthermore, the meeting witnessed an in-depth discussion of the situation in Gaza Strip and Egypt’s intensified efforts to bring aid by land and air to relieve the people of Gaza were discussed.

 In this context, FAO Director expressed his deep appreciation for the historical Egyptian role, which is characterized by the highest levels of responsibility and impartiality, reviewing the FAO’s efforts in this context.

He also stressed the organization's keenness to provide all means of support for the Egyptian efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of the Gaza Strip.
