'Fakh' Film to Represent Egypt in Canne Festival

Egyptian short film ''Fakh'' will be screened during the Critics Weeks, a part of the Canne International Film Festival, which will held it's 72nd edition between 14 to 25 May, 2019.

''Fakh'' film directed by Nada Riyadh, an Egyptian screenwriter and director will compete within the Short Film Category, one of the segments of the Critics Week " La Semaine de la Critique'', the other segment being for feature films.

After Riyadh's film which is considred the only entry from Egypt to the Critics Week, Fakh will compete against over 20 films  in the Feature and Shorts categories. it will have its world premiere at Cannes.

Cannes Festival in 2018

''La Semaine de la Critique'' was Created in 1962 by the French Union of Film Critics as a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival. It focuses on discovering new talents, revealing first and second feature films.

Colombian filmmaker Ciro Guerra is presiding over the jury this year. The prizes include Nespresso Grand Prize, The Louis Roederer Foundation Rising Star Award for feature films and the Leitz Cine Discovery Prize for short films.
