The explosions, which caused plumes of black smoke into the air, came just shortly after the two leaders held a press conference in which Guterres condemned the atrocities committed in towns like Bucha.

Defence minister, Oleksii Reznikov, called the strikes an attack “on the security of the Secretary-General, and on world security!”
Following his meeting with Zelenskyy, Guterres asserted that they were still continuing to enable the evacuation of a steel plant where fighters and civilians are holed up in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Mariupol.
“I can only tell you we are doing everything we can to make it happen. I’m not going to enter into any comment that could undermine that possibility," he told reporters.
The UN chief toured Borodyanka, a city near Kyiv, on Thursday, and described the Russian war in Ukraine as “evil” and absurd.
