An explosion hit, this morning, South Africa’s second-largest crude oil refinery in Durban, no injuries or deaths were reported so far.
An Engen spokesman said the company would issue a statement later, Reuters reported. Engen is majority owned by Malaysia’s Petronas.
According to the company's website, the Durban city plant pumps 120,000 barrels of crude oil per day, it is not clear whether the explosion had an impact on the refinery's production.
There are 6 refineries in South Africa, four of which use crude oil, while two of them use synthetic fuels.
