 Expert: Private Sector Strengthens Egypt-US Economic Relations

Dr. Mohamed Zaher, Chairman of the Mining Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt, (Am Cham Egypt) confirmed that the private sector has played an effective and pivotal role in strengthening the economic relations between Egypt and the United States of America (USA) now, and over the past years in various fields, at the top of the field of oil, gas, and energy.

Dr. Zaher added, "The US investment is constantly increasing in Egypt, as it has risen to about $24 billion now, in contrast to the increase in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which amounted to about $9.1 billion last year.

He pointed out that the private sector has succeeded a lot in changing the American view of Egypt and towards many issues in a way that supports bilateral relations between the two countries.

Zaher affirmed that Egypt is seeking in the coming period to conclude a free trade agreement with the USA, which will be in the interest of both countries.
