He added that the system of study at the American University with its campuses around the world has a spring vacation, and that what happened to the university in its American branch in Egypt is only a license.

Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, has decided to suspend studies at all public, private, and private universities and institutes, tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, and that the regularity of studies will begin tomorrow, Sunday, March 15 in all universities and institutes at the level of the Republic.

The decision includes students, faculty, and staff, and with the exception, work crews and outcomes that work needs, as determined by university presidents.

The decision was made in light with the conditions of the turbulent weather wave that the country is currently going through, enabling state institutions to deal with the effects of heavy rains, and enabling universities and institutes to eliminate the effects of heavy rains on some university buildings and facilities in cooperation with the relevant authorities.

The American University in Cairo announced today its decision to offer a spring vacation date to start Sunday 15 March for a week, and the university will in this period refine its willingness to transfer all forms of teaching to be online.

Upon resuming studies on Sunday March 22, 2020, the university will begin a two-week test for teaching online. The statement also stated that the American University in Cairo will remain open and operate at full capacity during these many weeks.
