The United States has facilitated the departure of over 400 American citizens and permanent residents from Gaza, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State confirmed on Tuesday.
Canadian International Development Minister Ahmed Hussen announced on Tuesday that Canada has evacuated the first group of Canadians from Gaza through the Rafah border crossing into Egypt.
"They are now safe and well in Egypt, and we are very happy about that," he told reporters.
The French Foreign Ministry also stated today that more than a hundred French nationals have successfully exited Gaza via the Rafah crossing.
The ministry's statement noted that "two groups of French citizens, agents, and their beneficiaries have left" on Monday and Tuesday and "are now safe in Egypt."
This increases the total number of individuals evacuated by France to over one hundred.
Hundreds are awaiting the reopening of the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt on Tuesday to leave amid the ongoing deadly conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has persisted for a month.
