EU's Borrell Visits Rafah Crossing

Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the Commission, has arrived at the Rafah land crossing in North Sinai.

Borrell held a press conference in front of the Rafah land crossing, with various media outlets present, along with Khaled Megawer, Governor of North Sinai.

The governor expressed gratitude for the humanitarian, food, and relief aid provided to the governorate. Meanwhile, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy commended Egypt's efforts to address the situation in the Gaza Strip and facilitate aid delivery. Additionally, the representative praised the strong relations between Cairo and the European Union.

According to a statement released by EU, the EU leader will visit Lebanon on Wednesday and Thursday to meet with Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, and Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun.

The EU statement also mentioned that during the five-day visit, there will be discussions on all aspects of the situation in and around Gaza. The statement also noted that the conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 40,939 Palestinians, injuries to around 94,616 individuals, mostly women and children, and significant damage to infrastructure.
