Passengers traveling between Paris and London have faced disruptions as train services were canceled due to extensive flooding warnings across Europe.

According to the European network "Euronews," Eurostar train services to and from London were canceled today, Saturday after a tunnel beneath the River Thames was flooded due to heavy rains.

This coincides with one of the busiest periods of the year due to New Year's celebrations.

Euronews noted that hundreds of passengers attempting to cross the English Channel were stranded at London's St Pancras International Station and Gare du Nord station in Paris.

Eurostar, which operates services from London to Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, announced that it would not be operating high-speed train services throughout Saturday due to the flooding.

The United Kingdom has experienced strong winds, storms, and heavy rainfall brought by Storm Gertrude during the holiday season.

Further travel disruptions are expected during the final weekend of the year.

The UK's Met Office has forecasted more severe winds and heavy rain for London and southern England on Saturday.

Wind gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour are expected, with the winds potentially stronger near coastal areas.

Travelers are advised to check with their respective train operators for updates on service disruptions.
