The leaders expressed their gratitude to Pakistan and all partners involved for facilitating this important agreement, emphasizing that the primary goal must now be to negotiate a swift and lasting end to the war within the coming days through diplomatic means.
The statement strongly encouraged quick progress toward a substantive negotiated settlement, describing it as crucial for protecting the civilian population of Iran and ensuring security in the region.
Furthermore, the leaders noted that such a settlement can avert a severe global energy crisis.
While confirming they are in close contact with the United States and other partners to support these diplomatic efforts, the European governments called upon all sides to implement the ceasefire, including in Lebanon.
