European leaders have expressed firm support for Denmark, reaffirming that Greenland belongs to its people and that decisions regarding its future must be made without external pressure or interference.

In coordinated statements, leaders from several European countries stressed that Greenland’s political and legal status is clear, underlining that the island’s future should be determined by Greenlanders themselves in coordination with Danish authorities. They emphasized respect for sovereignty, international law, and established constitutional arrangements governing Greenland’s autonomy.

European officials also highlighted the strategic importance of Greenland within the Arctic region, noting that security challenges in the far north require cooperation among allies rather than unilateral actions. They reiterated that Arctic stability must be addressed through collective frameworks and dialogue, particularly within transatlantic and European security structures.

The show of solidarity comes amid heightened geopolitical debate over Greenland’s strategic location and natural resources. European leaders warned against any attempts to question Denmark’s sovereignty or Greenland’s autonomous status, calling instead for diplomacy and adherence to international norms.

They concluded by reaffirming Europe’s commitment to Denmark and to the principle that territorial integrity and the right of peoples to determine their own future must be upheld, especially at a time of growing global tensions.
