European countries provided job opportunities to a massive number of Ukrainian refugees who are fleeing the Russian invasion.
Some experts have urged the Eastern European countries, which have a lower GDP compared to other western counterparts, to welcome a larger number of refugees from Ukraine.
Over three million people have fled the war in Ukraine, heading to its neighbouring countries, while millions more are displaced domestically, according to a recent report published by CNBC.
Hence, the association of Bulgarian employers’ organisation asserted that they could employ over 200,000 Ukrainians, as reported by VOA.
Ukrainian refugees are “intelligent, educated… highly qualified," Prime Minister Kiril Petkov said. “These are people who are Europeans, so we and all other countries are ready to accept them.”
In the same vein, authorities in Hungary have also opened doors refugees from Ukraine.
“We are able to spot the difference: Who is a migrant, they are coming from the south … and who is a refugee,” Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban has stressed. “Refugees can get all the help,” Orban pointed out last week.
In previous remarks, Foreign Minister of Hungary Péter Szijjártó has noted that the government would support employers who offer jobs to refugees from Ukraine while also providing them housing and transportation opportunities.
Employers who offer jobs to refugees from Ukraine will receive €160 per month for each refugee they employ and an additional €32 for each of their children.
“Work opportunities will be offered to those that plan to stay in Hungary for a lengthy period “because in Hungary we are building a work-based society, which has been a successful undertaking,” Szijjártó stressed.
