Today, the European Commission proposed that the 27 countries grant Ukraine €18 billion in aid in 2023 in the form of loans to be paid by member states.
This stable and regular financial assistance, averaging €1.5 billion per month, will cover a large part of Ukraine's short-term financing needs for 2023, which the Ukrainian authorities and the International Monetary Agency estimate at 3 to 4 billion euros per month," the Commission said in a statement.
On the other hand, the European Commission proposed last September to provide an additional 5 billion euros in financial aid to Ukraine.
"The situation in Ukraine requires our full support. The European Commission has proposed granting Ukraine an additional €5 billion in financial aid," Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on her Twitter account.
