The European Union does not intend to join the United States in any military confrontation with Iran, maintaining its position in favor of de-escalation and diplomatic engagement, according to statements from EU leadership.

Officials said the bloc condemns attacks on civilian infrastructure and continues to prioritize efforts to reduce tensions, stressing that a political solution remains the only viable path to resolving the crisis.

The EU is not considering military involvement alongside Washington, including in relation to tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy transit route.

While differences remain among member states, there is broad consensus within the bloc against military escalation, with diplomacy at the forefront of its approach.

The stance comes as the EU faces mounting economic pressure from rising oil prices, which have driven up fuel and gas costs across the region.
