EU President Hails 'Constructive', 'Poistive' Relations with Egypt

European Council President Charles Michel praised a speech delivered by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Monday, at the opening session of  (COP-27) climate conference, through which he made an appeal to stop the Russian-Ukrainian war and end this crisis, which casts a shadow over all countries of the world.

In an interview with the Middle East News Agency, Michel stressed that Egypt is a basic and key partner of the EU in the region, pointing to the coordination between the two sides in many fields, describing the relations between the two sides as "constructive and positive."

He also reviewed the areas of cooperation between Egypt and EU, especially the economic ones, in addition to political dialogue and cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism and security.

On the coordination between the two sides to confront the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, especially with regard to the food and energy crises,  Michel affirmed the existence of direct dialogue and continuous contacts with President Sisi and the Egyptian authorities, where the serious repercussions of the war were discussed.
