The European Union offers its condolences for the death of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdollahian and other Iranian officials involved in the tragic helicopter crash on Sunday.
The EU expresses its sympathies to the families of all the victims and to the Iranian citizens affected.
The Executive Assistant to the Iranian President announced today, Monday, the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash, Iranian media reported.
A short while ago, the Iranian Mehr News Agency said that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and the rest of the helicopter passengers died in an air accident while performing work duty in East Azerbaijan Province, northwest of the country.
Reuters news agency, quoting an Iranian official, also announced the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, his Foreign Minister, and other companions in the helicopter crash.
Iranian media said that initial images show that the Iranian president’s helicopter crashed on a mountaintop.
A short while ago, the head of the Iranian Red Crescent said that no signs of any living people had been detected at the crash site.
