Australian Foreign Minister (FM) Alexander Schallenberg said that the European Union's foreign ministers unanimously support a ceasefire and the establishment of humanitarian corridors in Gaza, with the aim of alleviating the suffering of the civilian population.
In a statement on Monday, Schallenberg added that the foreign ministers of the 27 EU countries are discussing the situation in the Middle East and Ukraine in Brussels today.
He explained that a ceasefire is an urgent necessity, stressing the need to adhere to international humanitarian law, adding that Israel is bound by it like any other country.
It is worth mentioning that, Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy called for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Moreover, he explained that EU is deeply concerned about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
In a significant display of solidarity and support, the European Union (EU) is stepping up its commitment to alleviate the suffering of people in Gaza by providing an additional €25 million in humanitarian aid.
