The European Statistics Office (Eurostat) published data on the economic impacts of climate change in the European Union (EU), and confirmed in a report that the member states of the European Union incurred economic losses exceeding € 145 billion due to the adverse weather conditions caused by climate change during the past decade.
Although climate change causes bad weather, this situation has also led to great economic losses, as bad weather conditions due to climate change, including heat waves, floods and storms, caused economic losses of more than €145 billion between 2011 and 2020.
On the other hand, the average climate-related economic loss per capita in EU countries was €27 in 2020, during this period, the largest per capita economic loss in relation to climate change was recorded in Greece.
