"The permanent representatives of the EU member states, at a meeting on Monday, approved new sanctions against Russia in relation to the situation in Ukraine, according to the French mission.

"The permanent representatives, in coordination with international partners, have approved the fourth package of sanctions against inpiduals and organizations involved in the aggression against Ukraine, as well as a number of sectors of the Russian economy," the French mission, which chairs the Council of the EU said on Twitter.

These measures will be implemented from the moment they are immediately published in the Official Journal of the European Union.

The permanent representatives approved the World Trade Organization (WTO) statement on Russian aggression against Ukraine, regarding the suspension of consideration of Belarus's candidacy for accession to the WTO.

"Moscow will not ask the US and Europe to lift sanctions, the West's pressure will not change Moscow's path,"   Sergeĭ Viktorovich, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs said.

"Sanctions are not our decision. They were imposed on us by the likes of the US and its henchmen… they want us to put pressure on Russia, to put our economy and citizens in a very difficult situation," the Minister added.
