Angelina Eichhorst, European Union (EU) Ambassador to Cairo, emphasized the vital importance of the strategic partnership between Egypt and EU.
Her remarks came during the annual Iftar banquet hosted by Ambassador Eichhorst on Wednesday evening, attended by a group of journalists, media professionals, and press attachés from the embassies of EU member states.
In her speech, which she notably delivered in Arabic, Eichhorst described the partnership between Egypt and the European Union as "valuable and beneficial."
Moreover, she noted that the past year witnessed significant developments in bilateral relations, most notably the convening of the first Egypt-EU Summit in Brussels last October. The summit saw the participation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and European Council President António Costa.
The EU Ambassador further pointed out that the President of the European Council visited Egypt twice this year.
She also highlighted Egypt's official joinder to the "Horizon Europe" program, noting that this move reflects the advanced standing of Egyptian scientific research on the international stage.
