European Union Ambassador to Cairo, Christian Berger, emphasized the vital role of art in societal change and development during a seminar held on the sidelines of the Aswan International Women's Film Festival. Berger pointed out the significant influence of cinema and drama in conveying powerful messages about women's issues, education, and the cessation of violence against women in the Arab world.

"Art is a strong tool for societal change, helping elevate important issues such as women obtaining jobs and leadership positions," said Berger. He spoke at the seminar titled "The Role of Cinema in Developing Knowledge and Awareness Among Priority Groups," expressing his pleasure in collaborating with young men and women to produce artistic works that economically and socially empower women.

Berger expressed satisfaction with the partnerships formed with Egypt's Ministry of Social Solidarity and the National Council for Women. These collaborations aim to produce films that support women in all areas of life. Additionally, he announced the EU's participation in organizing numerous festivals and special EU-themed festivals, along with workshops for youth focused on scriptwriting and directing.

This initiative by the European Union represents a continued commitment to using soft power through art to address and solve critical social issues, thereby promoting a broader understanding and support for women across various sectors.
