The European Union has unveiled a €100,000 humanitarian aid package to aid those affected by recent landslides and floods triggered by heavy rains in Mount Hanang and various regions of Tanzania.

In a statement released by its external action service on Saturday, the EU outlined that these funds would be directed towards supporting the Tanzanian Red Cross Society in delivering relief and immediate assistance to 44,000 families residing in the hardest-hit areas across the Manyara, Dar es Salaam, Kigoma, Kagera, Geita, and Unguja regions.

The assistance provided will encompass the provision of food, clean water, sanitation, hygiene, shelter, health services, and protection.

This announcement underscores the EU's unwavering solidarity with the people of Tanzania during this challenging period, as it remains committed to aiding the nation in addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
