The Ethiopian government called on, Thursday, the leaders of (TPLF), Tigray People's Liberation Front, to peacefully surrender and refrain from engaging in further atrocities, according to ENA.

The government accused the TPLF’s troops and their loyalists of "committing atrocities against civilians on the basis of their identity,” in various places such as the city of Mykadra.

“The Federal Government would like to reiterate its commitment to bring to justice those responsible for such heinous crimes,” it said.

On its part, Ethiopia State of Emergency Fact Check confirmed the statement.

“As we enter the final phase of the law enforcement operation against the criminal clique within TPLF, we would like to remind the leaders of this group that the atrocities that have been committed by their forces and loyalists in places like Maykadra constitute serious crimes both under Ethiopian and international law,” the statement mentioned.

The conflict is currently raging in the ‘Tigray’, after Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed declared war on armed groups, belonging to the region on the 4th of November.
