Ethiopia: 370 Killed in Oromia among ABO Shane Group

The Ethiopia’s Oromia Police announced, Thursday, the killing of 370 and the arrest of dozens of ABO Shane group, a splinter group from the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) which is an opposition party.

The death toll from the ABO Shane group, during the past month, reached 370, after an attack launched by the special forces of the regional government in the center of the country, according to the statement issued by Oromia Police.

“With this participation, an action has been taken on the 370 OLF army members of OLF,” Oromia Police Commission stated.

The police and residents have contributed in the operation in various regions of Oromia state, including the arrest of 330 members of the same group.

“The participation of the people of Oromia has made a great benefit.”

“The members of the 183 members of the Junta of Woyane who were supporting the army of OLF have been under control of the law,” the statement stated.

“These 176 are caught in the war. Those who have been hiding in different places have been held in 154 by the public,” it added.

The special forces managed to seize a large number of weapons, ammunition and other equipment that were used by ABO Shane group.

“With this campaign of peace that was conducted, 1,581 different kinds of weapons, 10,902 guns, 682,680 money, 682,680 truths and 239,700 lies,” it continued.

This operation came days after an armed attack carried out by the same group that caused the killing of 32 people.
