As the war in Ukraine enters its third year, Estonia has announced a new €100 million military aid package to support Kyiv in its defense against the Russian invasion.
Estonian Defense Minister Kristen Michal revealed the commitment in a speech at the National Museum in Tartu on Saturday.
He stated that the government has decided to purchase and deliver 10,000 artillery shells to Ukraine as soon as possible.
Additionally, the Estonian Armed Forces will send 750,000 food rations from its reserves.
Beyond ammunition and supplies, Estonia will also provide Ukraine with military equipment worth €100 million ($104.6 million), sourced from its domestic arms industry.
Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Kyiv has relied heavily on Western military assistance.
Estonia, a European Union and NATO member bordering Russia, has been one of Ukraine’s most vocal and consistent supporters.
