Regional tensions escalated sharply overnight after Iran reported the killing of four army officers in what it described as a U.S. strike near the city of Isfahan, alongside a series of explosions and missile launches across multiple areas.
The Iranian army said the officers, from its ground forces, were killed during the reported strike in southern Isfahan, according to state-linked media. There was no immediate comment from the United States on the claim.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported explosions in the capital, Tehran, without providing details on the cause or extent of the damage.
In a further escalation, official Iranian outlets said a new wave of missiles had been launched toward southern Israel, signaling a continuation of cross-border hostilities.
Additional explosions were also reported in the central Iranian city of Yazd, raising concerns over a widening confrontation inside Iranian territory.
The developments mark a significant intensification of military activity, heightening fears of broader regional escalation as exchanges continue across multiple fronts.
