The Civil Defense in Gaza has reported a sharp escalation in Israeli airstrikes across the besieged territory, with a series of violent attacks in recent hours claiming the lives of dozens and leaving many more injured.

In a statement cited by Russia Today, the Civil Defense confirmed that densely populated areas sheltering displaced civilians have been heavily targeted. Among the most tragic incidents was a strike on the Yaffa School in northeastern Gaza City, which had been serving as a refuge for families fleeing the ongoing fighting. The attack resulted in the deaths of 10 individuals, whose bodies were recovered from the rubble.

The neighborhoods of Zeitoun and Shuja'iyya in Gaza City also came under intense artillery bombardment and gunfire from Israeli military vehicles. Similar assaults were reported in the southwestern areas of Rafah, further exacerbating the plight of civilians trapped under siege conditions.

In Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip, one Palestinian was killed and five others injured after an Israeli strike hit a tent sheltering displaced people near the Asdaa' Media City. Additional airstrikes in the nearby Bani Suheila region led to the death of another man and injuries to six others when a tent in the Al-Fajam neighborhood was targeted. Other neighborhoods, including Qizan Rashwan, Al-Manara, and Al-Salam, also suffered heavy shelling.

The Civil Defense highlighted the desperate situation in eastern Gaza, where emergency teams received urgent pleas for help from civilians trapped beneath the debris of their homes on Al-Nakheel Street in the Al-Tuffah area. However, the teams were unable to reach the site, which has been designated a high-risk zone due to ongoing military operations.

The Civil Defense called on the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to intensify coordination with Israeli authorities to ensure humanitarian access and rescue operations for those still alive under the rubble.

Meanwhile, medical sources confirmed that the death toll from Israeli strikes has risen to 12 Palestinians across various areas since dawn. The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate rapidly amid relentless airstrikes and a severe shortage of medical supplies and aid.
