During a phone call with his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the necessity of fully implementing the ceasefire and integration agreement in Syria between Damascus and the "Syrian Democratic Forces" (SDF).
According to the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications, Erdogan noted that Ankara attaches great importance to the full implementation of the ceasefire and integration process in neighboring Syria.
Moreover, he pointed out that Turkey is monitoring the process closely, in coordination with the United States and Syrian authorities.
Furthermore, Turkish President expressed his wishes for the Peace Council to achieve productive results, asserting his conviction that ending the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and its reconstruction would pave the way for lasting peace in the region.
The call covered bilateral relations between Turkey and the United States, the latest developments in Syria, the activities of the Peace Council, and trade relations, particularly in the field of defense industries, alongside regional and international issues.
During the call, Erdogan affirmed that Turkey and the United States will continue to take the necessary steps to strengthen their cooperation, stressing that enhancing relations across all fields serves the mutual interests of both countries.
