During a phone call on Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed bilateral relations with US President Donald Trump, alongside a number of regional and international issues.
According to a press statement by the Turkish Directorate of Communications, reported by Anadolu Agency, Erdogan considered the decision to extend the US ceasefire with Iran a "positive development," expressing confidence that a "logical solution to the disputed issues" can be reached.
The Turkish President affirmed that his country will continue to support constructive initiatives aimed at resolving conflicts.
Regarding the situation in Syria, Erdogan stressed that achieving lasting stability there would represent a "significant gain for the entire region," while also emphasizing the need to prevent the situation in Lebanon from worsening.
Furthermore, the Turkish President noted that preparations are ongoing for the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara, explaining that his country is making every effort to ensure the summit's success on all levels.
During the call, Erdogan also expressed his condolences to Trump following the recent attack targeting a mosque in the US state of California, reaffirming Turkey's rejection of hate crimes that target any religious group.
