Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan that Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon "threaten global security."
A statement published by the Turkish presidency at the conclusion of the discussions between Putin and Erdogan stated that the Turkish President “announced that Israel has added to the acts of mass killing in Palestine new actions in Lebanon, where it now threatens not only security in the Middle East, but also global security.”
Erdogan added that "it is the duty of humanity to stand against Israel's plans that seek to deprive the Palestinians of their land, and that the BRICS countries' confrontation of Israeli aggression will give momentum to the just cause of Palestine," according to the statement.
It is noteworthy that President Putin's meeting with his Turkish counterpart was held on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, which is hosted by the Russian city of Kazan during the period from October 22 to 24.
