Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stressed that the establishment of a Palestinian state is a prerequisite for achieving a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
Erdogan said at a press conference on Monday with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung that Turkey is interested in maintaining the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and working to ensure that no more innocent people are killed there.
Erdogan explained that what we are defending is the two-state solution based on the 1967 borders and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, noting that the establishment of a Palestinian state is the basic condition for achieving a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.
The Turkish president called on all friendly, brotherly, and allied countries to recognize the State of Palestine
