The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) has set up a refugee relief camp in Khan Younis, located in southern Gaza. The camp was established based on the directives of the Egyptian leadership in order to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The camp is meant to provide accommodation to thousands of Palestinians who were forced out of their homes in northern Gaza due to Israeli bombardment.
In a social media post, ERC shared that they have been working in collaboration with the Palestinian Red Crescent to prepare the shelter camp. The camp is located in southwest Khan Yunis and has been designed to accommodate more than 6,000 people.
It offers all necessary relief and medical services, as well as providing basic needs such as food and water for the residents on a daily basis.
"The ERC team has been working around the clock to ensure that the camp is fully operational and ready to serve the people of Gaza," the post read.
