Dr. Lotfi Ghaith, Director of Operations at the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), affirmed that Israel hinders the entry of aid trucks to Gaza.
Speaking to the Egyptian media, Dr. Ghaith explained that the increase in the cost of the aid trucks affects the budget of the Egyptian Red Crescent.
He noted that a large part of the organization's budget is consumed in transporting food aid.
Dr. Ghaith further explained that some trucks are rejected by the Israeli side, which delays the aid delivery process. He indicated that there are many trucks ready to enter Gaza, but Israel is disrupting the entry procedures for trucks, which affects the contents of the truck. Additionally, there are no warehouses that meet the required specifications on the Palestinian side, which also affects the goods inside the trucks.
The Director of Operations stressed that coordination is taking place with the Palestinian Red Crescent to determine the needs of the Palestinian people. These needs may include food, relief, or medical supplies, and are determined according to what is required.
