Entissar El Sisi Offers Condolences to Martyr's Mother

Egypt’s First Lady Entissar El Sisi, wife of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, made a phone call on Wednesday to Mrs. Wafaa Mohamed Mehanna, the mother of the hero martyr Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Al-Hofi. 

Mrs. Sisi offered sincere condolences to Ms. Mehanna on the martyrdom of her son who passed away during a raid by the National Security Sector at a terrorist cell in al-Amiriya region, eastern Cairo late Tuesday.

It is worth noting that the martyr's mother received the condolence call from Mrs. Sisi while she was in Behaira governorate, the birthplace of the martyr's family.

A few hours ago, Egypt’s President Sisi praised the successful security attack on a terrorist cell in Al Amiriya neighborhood which took place yesterday and resulted in the death of an officer called Mohammed Fawzy Al Hofi, and the injury of three others.

“I have proudly followed the heroic action of the Interior ministry’s personnel, which confirms the valor of the police officers in the face of terrorism and the ability of the Egyptian state to maintain the security and safety of the country and citizens, despite all challenges,” Sisi said on Twitter and Facebook.

“I extend my sincere condolences to martyr Mohammed Fawzy Al Hofi’s family, and wish a speedy recovery for the brave injured police officers,” the president added.

“God Protect Egypt and Its people,” Sisi said.

It is worth mentioning that, security forces managed to eliminate a terrorist cell in Al Amiriya neighborhood, according to a statement issued by interior ministry on Tuesday.

The cell was reportedly planning attacks on the country´s Coptic Christians during Holy Week and Easter Sunday.

The statement revealed that the terrorist elements timed their attacks to coincide with Christian religious holidays, adding that 7 terrorists were killed during a fire exchange with counter-terrorism forces.
