Six passengers were injured and taken to hospital after a Swiss Air passenger aircraft aborted take-off following an engine failure and fire at Indira Gandhi International Airport early on Sunday, according to The Economic Times.
The flight, which was scheduled to travel from Delhi to Zurich, was forced to halt its take-off after one of its engines malfunctioned and caught fire during the process. The crew immediately stopped the aircraft and initiated an emergency evacuation on the runway.
Authorities confirmed that six passengers sustained injuries during the incident and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
The situation was brought under control following the evacuation, while investigations are expected to determine the cause of the engine failure.
