The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards for television, one of the biggest events on the showbiz calendar, were presented Sunday. The Emmys are the first big award show to take place in the pandemic-era.
The awards ceremony, usually take place in Los Angeles amid the attendee of A-list stars, was held virtually for the first time.
It was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for the third time and aired on ABC, which was held under strict lockdown in an empty theater at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, with no red carpet, no star-studded audience.

This year's digital Primetime Emmys featured many highlights such as "Friends" star Jennifer Aniston "saving the Emmys" and presenting another Friends reunion.
Aniston, nominated in the lead actress drama category for "The Morning Show", was a presence throughout the Emmys telecast, from a fiery presenting bit with Kimmel early in the show to a mini-"Friends" reunion on webcam with co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.
The 51-year-old actress earned career-best reviews and a Screen Actors Guild award for her role as "Alex Levy",
a news anchor on Apple TV+'s "The Morning Show," however, the award went to Zendaya, in an extremely well-deserved win for HBO's "Euphoria."
It started when Aniston joined Kimmel onstage to present the award for lead actress in a comedy series; before announcing that Catherine O'Hara took home the trophy for her performance in "Schitt's Creek", the duo jokingly took extra precaution to sanitize the winner's name, setting it on fire after dousing it in Lysol spray.
The 51-year-old actress, armed with a fire extinguisher, proceeded to try and extinguish the small blaze so the duo could read the results, which took several tries to put down the fire.
He posted a video with the actress and wrote: "Jennifer Aniston puts out a fire and saves the Emmys." Check it out:

The Emmys provided the perfect opportunity for Aniston to give another Friends reunion that the audience craves.
The actress turned the annual awards ceremony into her very own Friends get together, as she was seen hanging out at her home with Cox and Kudrow. Aniston helped Kimmel to host the opening of the ceremony before rushing home ahead of her category being announced.
Aniston shared earlier that day a glimpse of her prep session for the big award ceremony on Instagram. She posted a picture in her pajamas and the "other" kind of mask. She captioned her post: "Emmys prep... In my other mask."
She congratulated her fellow nominees and added, "Congratulations to the nominees and all of the amazing performances we've seen this year."
This year's digital Primetime Emmys also saw Zendaya, and Watchmen, make history as well as Succession, and Schitt's Creek win big.

Zendaya made history with a surprise win for best drama actress, becoming the youngest ever winner in that category.
The 24-year-old won her first Emmy at the 2020 Emmys for her portrayal of drug addict Rue in HBO's dark high school drama "Euphoria", which didn't have many other nominations.

Canadian comedy series "The Schitt's Creek" dominated the early part of the ceremony, winning six categories, which were the best comedy actor (Eugene Levy), actress (Catherine O'Hara), supporting actor (Daniel Levy), and supporting actress (Annie Murphy).
Furthermore, HBO topped the evening with 30 awards in total, most notably best drama series for "Succession" and "Watchmen" for best limited series.
"Watchmen" took home 11 awards out of 26 nominations while Yahya Abdul-Mateen II scooped his first Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie, for his role in the series, which he dedicated to “all the black women in my life”.
The series creator, Damon Lindelof, accepted the best limited series win with a “Remember Tulsa ’21” shirt and dedicated the award to victims of the burning of Black Wall Street in Tulsa in 1921, which is the series is based on.
On the other hand, "Succession", racked up the drama awards, winning best writing, directing, best actor for Jeremy Strong, and best series.
