Actor Rip Torn Dies Aged 88

Rip Torn, the American actor who starred in the likes of Dodgeball and Men In Black, has died aged 88, according to media reports.

The award-winning television, film and theatre actor died at his home on Tuesday afternoon, with his wife and two daughters by his side.

Torren's career has recently flourished in television appearances such as The Larry Sanders Show and successful films such as Men in Black and Dodgeball.

One of Torren's impressive roles was in 1984's Cross Creek, then he was nominated for the Oscar.

According to media reports, the cause of death was not disclosed, but Thorren was surrounded at the time of his death by his daughters and wife, actress Amy Wright, who was best known for her role in Stardust Memory and The Occidental Tourist.
