Embassy of Pakistan, Cairo organized a seminar titled "Kashmir Under Siege; the spirit of self-determination in IIOJ&K reinvigorates"" to mark Kashmir Black Day, at the Chancery, today.
The Guest Speakers, representing Egyptian intelligentsia, media, academia and think tank community, in their separate, but equally impactful presentations, highlighted the plight of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). They stated that IIOJK is a disputed territory between Pakistan and India, and no country has the right to unilaterally change its disputed status. They demanded that Kashmir Issue being one of the oldest agendas of UN Security Council must be resolved in accordance with relevant UNSC Resolutions and according to the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
The speakers condemned the Indian government’s fascist, anti-Kashmiri, anti-Muslim actions and Human Rights violations. They also vehemently condemned the brutal aggression by Israel on Gaza and stated that Israeli forces committed genocide on innocent Gazans.
The Guest Speakers paid glowing tributes to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri and Palestinian martyrs and saluted the resolve of innocent but brave Kashmiris and Palestinians in the face of Indian and Israeli oppression respectively.
Ambassador Aamir Shouket in his address paid rich tributes to the Kashmiris and Palestinians for their valiant struggle and resolve for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination. He reiterated steadfast support of the government and people of Pakistan for Kashmiris’ and Palestinians' right of self-determination.
Ambassador Aamir Shouket stressed that international community must act immediately and impress upon India to reverse its unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019 and stop its demographic apartheid in IIOJK. He lauded the signing of Gaza Peace Agreement in Sharm-El-Sheikh.
A large number of intellectuals, journalists, students, Kashmiri and Pakistan community notables attended the event.
