The Embassy of India in Cairo, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ Mera Bharat initiative, will host the “Viksit Bharat Run 2025” on Friday, 26 September 2025, at Bait El Hind in Zamalek. The event forms part of the Seva Pakhwada initiative, which embodies the spirit of collective responsibility and service.

Seva Pakhwada—a fortnight dedicated to service, responsibility, and community participation—is marked in India and across the world with activities designed to strengthen civic engagement and promote social responsibility. The “Viksit Bharat Run 2025” stands out as this year’s flagship event, taking place simultaneously in more than 150 cities worldwide under the slogan “Run for Service to the Nation”. The event also commemorates the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and reflects the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The Cairo run will feature a community race of 3 to 5 kilometers, uniting Egyptian citizens and members of the Indian diaspora under the banner of service to the nation. Participants from India will also take the Viksit Bharat and Atmanirbhar Bharat pledges, reaffirming their commitment to building a self-reliant and advanced India.

As part of the “A Tree in Mother’s Name” initiative, plantable wristbands will be distributed to runners, symbolizing sustainability and growth. The event will also include cultural performances and contributions from community leaders, highlighting India’s ongoing development journey under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.

The Embassy warmly invites all friends of India, members of the Indian community, Cairo residents, and the wider public to actively join this initiative, spreading the spirit of service and solidarity. Participation in this global movement will further strengthen the bonds of friendship and shared values between India and Egypt, while promoting a culture of cooperation, inspiration, and mutual support.
