EMA Warns of Unstable Weather on Tuesday

Experts of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expect that unstable weather conditions will prevail from Tuesday until Sunday.

The bad weather spell will reach the peak on Wednesday.

Unstable weather conditions are one of the characteristics of the autumn season, which is also characterized by its low temperature and a higher threat of heavy rain.

Tuesday:

In a statement on Sunday, EMA predicted that moderate rain will fall on Tuesday in El Salloum, Siwa, Marsa Matruh, and El Dabaa, with light rain is predicted to fall in Alexandria.

Wednesday:

Some areas in the Lower Egypt and northern coasts will face on Wednesday moderate to torrential rain, even thunderstorms at times, while Delta governorates will face medium range.

Meanwhile, Cairo will see light to medium rains on Wednesday.

Thursday to Sunday:

EMA expects that moderate to heavy rainfall, thunderstorm sometimes, will hit Cairo, from Thursday (October 22) to Sunday (October 25). It will be accompanied by a decline in temperatures ranging from 4 to 5 degrees.

Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, along with eastern coasts as well as some areas in the Lower Egypt and northern coasts will face on from Thursday to Sunday, moderate to heavy rainfall, and sometimes thunderstorms.

It may reach the level of torrents in the northern coasts as well as in some areas of the North and Central Sinai.

Meanwhile, light to medium rainfall will prevail in areas of northern Upper Egypt such as Fayoum, Beni Suef, and Minya.

EMA added that Lower Egypt and North Upper Egypt will face a decline in temperatures ranging from 4 to 5 degrees.

EMA advice

Dr. Mahmoud Shaheen, director of the Meteorological Center at the Meteorological Authority (EMA), said, in a phone-in with TeN satellite channel, on Sunday, that the rapid changes that occur in the fall make the agency advice citizens follow the weather forecast before leaving home.

“The winter will begin on December 21,” he added.

Shaheen advised to wear autumn clothes during this period, as well as to the follow-up of the weather forecast, to avoid catching colds, which its symptoms are similar to the coronavirus.
