Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of the activity of north-westerly winds across most parts of Egypt, causing sand and dust in the south of the country.
It will also lead to disruption of maritime navigation in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, which will increase the sensitivity to the cold weather, according to a statement issued on Thursday by EMA.
It stressed that the country will experience cold weather at night in central Sinai, and in northern Upper Egypt.
Meanwhile, it is expected for it to rain on the northern coasts, while some areas on Nile Delta will be facing heavy and thunderous rainfall, extending light to medium in Cairo, and areas in the north of Upper Egypt.
It is noteworthy that the EMA has previously warned Egyptians that unstable weather will continue during the coming period, predicting that low and medium clouds will be accompanied by rainfalls nationwide.
On the other hand, Dr. Mahmoud Shaheen, Director of the Meteorological Center at the Meteorological Authority revealed Wednesday that the unstable weather wave will continue for the next 72 hours until Friday.
The country will also witness the continuation of active winds stirring sand and dust on most parts in open areas, which greatly increases the citizens’ sensitivity to cold weather.
