Dr. Mahmoud El-Qaiaty, member of the Media Center at Egypt’s General Authority for Meteorology, outlined the expected weather conditions for the coming days through the start of next week, including details for New Year’s Eve night.
He indicated that starting Wednesday evening, light to moderate rain is expected along the northern coasts, particularly in Marsa Matrouh and Alexandria.
Morning fog is also forecast between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. on some roads leading to and from northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, central Sinai, and Upper Egypt, with occasional dense patches in certain areas.
Low to medium clouds are expected over northern Egypt, Greater Cairo, and the Suez Canal cities.
Wind activity is anticipated intermittently from Wednesday, December 31, through Sunday, January 4, affecting the northern coasts, Greater Cairo, and the Nile Delta.
For Tuesday, December 30, early morning temperatures will be very cold, warming slightly during the day but dropping to severe cold at night across most regions.
Low clouds may bring light drizzle in northern areas, while light rain is expected on the northwestern coasts and northern Delta.
Travelers are advised to exercise caution on fog-affected roads and to monitor updates as rain and wind may affect conditions, especially on the northern routes.
